heart bursting
mind swirling
tongue tied

oh, for the words that elude me
i pray
my mouth is surrendered to You
may Your words fill it
replacing mine

deep truths weigh on me
tears stream from my unveiled eyes
undone by what You reveal
i pray

how does one articulate
depths beyond language
where understanding comes
from places unseen

knowing through Your showing
truth penetrating my once hard heart
now soft and bleeding Your blood

i pray
rightly place my zeal
mercifully clarify my longings
justly purify my fervor

oh, for the words that elude me
i pray
my mouth is surrendered to You
may Your words fill it
